The underlying logic in the structure and content of ATIC derives from the re-conceptualization of the PROCESS of care provision or nursing care process , published by Dr. Juvé-Udina in 2012.

An interpretation that defines the PROCESS of care provision as non-linear and iterative in which:

    1. The initial ASSESSMENT of the person’s condition and circumstances
    1. Generates one or the conclusion of several TRIALS (Diagnostics)
    1. Leading to the PRESCRIPTION of care (Interventions_ Planning)
    1. Whose BENEFIT ( Interventions_Execution )
    1. It has to be evaluated in a continuous ASSESSMENT of the state and evolution of the person and their circumstances
    1. That could generate new TRIALS, restarting the process again.

The organizational context of the provision of care and the clinical expertise of each nurse are factors that influence the process and its results in the people attended. The content of the ATIC diagnostic axis is developed considering the hypothesis that the level of clinical expertise of each healthcare nurse determines their diagnostic capacity. The effect of the clinical competence of each nurse in the diagnostic formulation is illustrated in the introduction of the book ATIC Diagnostic Axis ( pp 29-33).

The doctoral thesis of Dr. Gonzalez-Samartino provides relevant results on the diagnostic accuracy nurse and clinical outcomes relationship.

The influences of both modulating variables are explored in Dra. Castellà-Creus’s doctoral thesis and her various derived scientific publications .

Process element ATIC conceptualization

Initial assessment

Systematic collection of objective and subjective data about the person (family, group, community or population), its context, history, circumstances and environment as well as the reason why you seek , request or require health care leading to clinical judgment.

Targeted assessment

Obtaining a systematic set of data on a specific aspect the state, situation, circumstances and / or environment of the person (family, group, community or population) served.

Ongoing Assessment and Results

The identification of health outcomes is a product of the trial diagnosis .

The results are clinical judgments about the evolution of the individual's state of health (or its consequences) once the nursing interventions have been carried out.

The results in ATIC is c lasifica n in: evolutionary and finishers.

In turn, they can be sub-classified as: healthy and adverse.

Evolutionary results or finalists are expressed n at ATIC through continuous endpoints and / or new diagnoses.

In ATIC the elements of initial, focused and continuous assessment are expressed with variables (basic elements) and parameters (molecular and atomic elements) of the Assessment Axis.

Interventions

Prescription of one or more nursing benefits (care) that derives from the diagnosis and it reflects the approach to its prevention , resolution or palliation , in whole or in part.

ATIC interventions are not detailed descriptions of a procedure.

They are concepts that encompass the objective and the caregiving actions and actions

Some requirements may be indicated by a enfermer to, one Médic o / a or other effect permitted or.

Its execution can be carried out by the patient and / or their caregivers, the nurse herself, the nurse and the doctor , with other professionals or be delegated to the auxiliary or technical staff.

ATIC interventions are basic elements of the Intervention Axis.

Activities

The activities in ATIC are molecular and atomic elements of the Intervention Axis.

They are specifications that allow a record of the essential elements that characterize an intervention and that,

They inform about an aspect to be highlighted and that must be detailed to guarantee safety, quality, continuity of care or, for regulatory, ethical-legal and / or cost-efficiency reasons .

Diagnosis

Clinical judgment or the conclusion of several judgments , resulting from the analysis and prioritization of the assessment data s about the health status of the person (family , group, community or population) and the real or risk consequences and reactions in the different dimensions of the beneficiary of care and its integrality, in the context of your environment and your particular experience and in the area of professional nursing responsibility, which also includes joint responsibility with the beneficiary of care, your informal caregivers and / or with other health professionals.

The objective of the nursing diagnosis is

Identify problems or situations that require or can benefit from nursing intervention , in health, for its preservation , in the states of relative health , to prevent disease and promote the reestablishment of the previous state, in disease states , to prevent disabilities, complications and their progression, as well as to promote the restoration or achievement of the best possible state of health and at the end of life , to prevent and alleviate suffering .

Diagnostics in ATIC are basic elements of the Diagnostic Axis.
